Beta Family Alternative for Indie iOS Apps
Beta Family is a crowdtesting community for iOS and Android apps. You create a test with questions and invite testers from its community and from your own network. Then you get a test report with their answers.
Beta Family works with TestFlight builds. This is very important before launch.
This page is for indie iOS developers who are choosing between Beta Family and Raizy. In short, the two tools cover different stages of an app's life.
Beta Family handles pre-release builds. Raizy does not support TestFlight builds at all. It is a free exchange for apps that are already live on the App Store.
All Beta Family details are as of October 2026. They come from its pricing page and how it works page.

When Beta Family is the better choice
Your app is not on the App Store yet
This is the most important reason. Before launch, your app exists only as a build, and Raizy cannot help with a build.
Apple's TestFlight lets you add up to 10,000 external testers. You can send them an invitation or a public link. A build goes to review when you add it to an external group.
TestFlight delivers the build. Beta Family gives you people to send it to. Beta Family also lists direct TestFlight sync for iOS tests.
You also ship on Android
Beta Family runs tests for both platforms. You can use one tool and one questionnaire for your iOS and Android builds. Raizy is iOS only.
You want testers to use the app for days
A Beta Family test runs for a set range of dates. In early October 2026, one open test on its test list asked testers to use the app every morning for at least 3 days.
This is good for habit apps. It is also good for any app where the second week is more important than the first minute.
You need a specific audience or structured answers
On paid plans, you can filter testers by age, gender and other parameters. You can also use questionnaire templates.
If you want many testers to answer the same questions, and you want the answers as a CSV file, Beta Family is built for that.
When Raizy fits better
Your app is already live
Raizy testers install the App Store version on their own iPhones. You do not upload a build or send an invitation.
You do not want to pay for testers
On Beta Family, you need a paid plan for filters, top-rated testers and rewards.
On Raizy, you pay with your time. Each approved feedback session that you give earns 1 credit. One credit buys a feedback session on your app.
You want to see what happened, not only read answers
Every Raizy feedback session includes a short screen recording or a screenshot. It also includes written notes.
The recording is silent, so the notes explain what the tester saw. A moderator checks each feedback session before Raizy moves any credit.
You want feedback from other developers
Your testers build iOS apps themselves, so they are not your target audience. Guide them with up to 500 characters of instructions, such as "try the import flow" or "check the paywall copy".
Using both: Beta Family before launch, Raizy after
The two tools cover different stages. Use each tool where it fits.
- Before launch, use TestFlight and Beta Family. Add your build to an external group. Create a Beta Family test with clear questions. Invite your own community too. Our guide on how to find beta testers for an iOS app lists more places to find testers.
- Make testers talk. Our guide on why TestFlight testers don't send feedback tells you what to change.
- Fix crashes and blocking bugs, then release.
- When your app is on the App Store, add it to Raizy. Request a few feedback sessions. See how new users handle the first launch and onboarding.
- Repeat a small Raizy round after each update. When you have enough feedback, you can pause or cancel the request.
